This lists the companies and organizations that Imperas and OVP partners with.

For information and quotations from the OVP Ecosystem of over 30 companies and organizations, see the presentation at the bottom of the page.

Silicon IP Providers

ARM
to be announced

Virage ARC

Virage Virage Logic's ARC configurable 32-bit processor cores and vertical application solutions are used in many of the digital products that consumers use every day. ARC cores ship in more than 425 million products annually in products such as PCs and laptops, digital and mobile TVs, portable media players, flash storage, digital cameras, and network appliances, as well as in medical and government systems.

Imperas and OVP have been working with ARC since early 2009 to develop and verify OVP models of ARC processor cores. Several model families are available and some cores are validated by Virage. Visit the Virage ARC cores website here and the OVPworld Virage ARC library pages here. You can download OVP ARC models from here.

MIPS

MIPS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MIPS), is a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications.

Imperas and OVP have been working with MIPS since late 2008 to develop and verify OVP models of MIPS processor cores. These models are validated under the MIPS-Verified(tm) program. Visit the MIPS website here and the OVPworld Imperas library pages here. You can download OVP MIPS models from here.

Tensilica

Tensilica, Inc. is the leader in customizable dataplane processors IP cores. Dataplane Processor Units (DPUs) combine the best capabilities of CPUs and DSPs while delivering 10- to 100-times the performance because they can be customized using Tensilica's automated design tools to meet specific signal processing performance targets.

Imperas and OVP have been working with Tensilica since June 2008 to allow fast functional, instruction accurate models of Tensilica's popular Xtensa and Diamond Standard processors to run on Open Virtual Platform (OVP) based virtual platforms. Visit the Tensilica website here and the OVPworld Tensilica library pages here. You can download the OVP Tensilica files from here.

Service Providers

CircuitSutra
CircuitSutra is an emerging company focusing on SystemC modeling services to create virtual platforms of SoCs and to use OVP virtual platforms to provide embedded software services. Starting with the open framework of OVP, CircuitSutra has integrated SystemC / TLM2.0 models into OVP based virtual platforms, and added drivers for those peripherals that have been added to the virtual platform.

Posedge Software
Posedge Software is a consulting company providing services in the areas of embedded software development and verification and hardware verification. Posedge also has significant experience integrating various tools to achieve a product flow for a specific task.

Posedge has used OVP for virtual platform development, and integrated it with SystemC/TLM-2.0 environments, as well as using OVPsim with Cadence's Specman ISX verification product. Posedge presented a paper on this at the 2009 Virtual Platform Workshop and have additional information on their OVP Library page.

Sibridge Technologies

Sibridge Technologies is an electronic design services company focused on providing innovative solutions for design, verification, and silicon platform software development for semiconductor products. Sibridge offers a unique blend of three critical components in the development of SoCs: design and verification IP portfolios; strong chip design, integration and verification expertise; and pre- and post- silicon firmware development and validation.

Sibridge has used OVP technology for embedded software development, co-authoring an article on their experience titled Audio-Decode Application Is Realized on Open Virtual Platform. and providing models back on their OVP Library page.

Operating Systems and EDA Companies

Mentor
Nucleus Mentor's Embedded Systems Division helps developers accelerate product time-to-market in applications ranging from consumer electronics to mobile handsets, medical, and industrial automation. The Nucleus OS platform features industry-leading offering of services such as networking, graphics, file system, USB and secure communications. Configured with EDGE Developer Suite - a complete Integrated Development Environment (IDE) based on the Eclipse framework - the platform encompasses a complete set of tools including compilers, debuggers and profilers.

Imperas and Mentor have worked to make OVP virtual platforms available for the MIPS and ARM processors that run the Nucleus RTOS. These virtual platforms make it easy to develop applications to run under Nucleus and to build new hardware and write drivers for use with Nucleus. Visit the Mentor Nucleus website here and visit the OVPworld Mentor Nucleus library pages here for easy downloads of free virtual platforms that include Nucleus running.

Synopsys SystemLevel Catalyst

Nucleus Imperas is a founding charter member of the Synopsys System-Level Catalyst Program created to benefit mutual customers by advancing tool and model interoperability as well as the availability of system-level models and services.

The integration of Open Virtual Platforms processor models with the Synopsys Innovator tools provides customers with an expanded set of IP with which to build virtual platforms. Moreover, the native TLM-2.0 interface in the instruction accurate OVP models ensures that users will have the fastest possible simulation performance, as is required for software development on virtual platforms.

Industry Organizations

Multicore Association
Imperas is a founding member of the Multicore Association.

OCP-IP

SystemC

Software Tools Providers

Imperas
Imperas is the founder of the Open Virtual Platforms initiative.
Imperas provides advanced software development tools for Verification, Analysis, Debugging, and Profiling of embedded systems using OVP based virtual platforms and specifically focus on addressing the complex issues of multicore software development.

Imperas have tools that analyze and debug software running on the most complex SMP and AMP platforms running Linux, Nucleus, FreeRTOS, uClinux and bare metal platforms. The comprehensive tool suite can be easily extended to work with any operating system. Visit the Imperas website here and the OVPworld Imperas library pages here.
